SATURDAY 10 NOVEMBER
After a quick visit to Recife we have today spent the day in Salvador da Bahia. We joined the two couples we have made friends with and shared a car with a guide who took us around to the most famous places.
We started with a wish at the Igreja Nossa Senhora de Bonfim, then a few picture moments by a fort called Forte Mont Serrat followed by a stop at Farol da Barra. We then went to Pelorinho to eat Acarajé and look at some churches and just walk around. We saw some guys dancing capoeira, one of them with the absolute longest rasta i have ever seen (see pic!)!! The city is full of beautiful Bahianas in their cute outfits so many more picture moments.
It was a nice day but I’m now knackered (not worked this hard since boarding) and ready for dinner on the ship. Only one event made me teary and that was when we saw a shaky old man being hit by a car. He stood up again, slightly disoriented, but alive. I hope he is alright, bless him.
We sail over to Ilhéus this evening then to Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday. The trip is quickly coming to an end, on Wednesday we arrive to Santos, Sao Paulo.
Yesterday night there was a Noche Blanco party at the boats disco on the top floor which was nice, tonight its Exotic Night so I’m guessing we will be partying tonight too… we’ll see, it’s a hard life here onboard with all these activities, eating and sunbathing.
Oh, and 28 degrees. Just about perfect!
